SAM LOURIE
MANAGING PARTNER
Sam was born & raised in Columbia, South Carolina and is a graduate of Richland Northeast High School & the University of South Carolina. After leaving USC, Sam moved to Nashville and worked in the music industry for 5 years. Now, he spends all of his time in the community that he has always called home. The Louries have been in South Carolina since the early 1900s, where the family owned and operated a department store for 96 years. Sam is a die-hard Carolina fan and has so much love for Columbia and the State of South Carolina. In his free time – you can find Sam at the dog park with his dog Leo, playing or watching sports, and spending time with family & friends.
BRET BABCOCK
MANAGING PARTNER
Bret Babcock was born and raised in a small town in Ohio and is a graduate of The University of Toledo (BBA, Finance) and The University of Mississippi (MBA, Finance). Bret’s career has been in finance since he started at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC, through his role as the CFO & COO of a technology firm in Nashville, TN, that he sold in 2021, and now where he serves as the CFO of an insurance brokerage in South Carolina. He has been recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as the CFO of the Year and 40 Under 40 Award winner. He has also been recognized by both of his alma maters, as the Outstanding Young Alumnus from The University of Toledo, and the MBA Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from The University of Mississippi. You can find Bret hanging out with his wife, daughter, and dog (Dolly) around town.
